How it work ?
- How ordering on line works:
The first step is to have a copy of your prescription from the optometrist. Once you have this you are able to work your way through the easy steps in ordering your glasses.
- Prescription:
Every 2 years an individual is entitled to claim an eye examination through the Medicare scheme. Just make an appointment with your local optometrist and ask for a legible copy of the prescription including the PD (pupil distance measurement). Alternatively, if you have had an eye examination within the 2 year period, that prescription is still current, and you may also ask for a copy along with the PD. By law the optometrist must provide you with a copy if requested.

Below are a couple of samples of how your prescription may look, or it may be hand written:

You will notice down the side of each page there is a directory to each of our different frame ranges, just click on the desired link to view our range.
- Fitting Glasses:
To ensure that your new glasses will fit as your old ones do, all you need to do is compare the measurements that are printed on the current frame. The frame measurement link will assist in locating the measurements.
- Lens types:

The type of lens will depend on the use you have for your glasses, whether it be for reading or distance, usually a single vision lens will be used. However, if you require a lens that caters for both reading and distance, then a bifocal or progressive (multifocal) lens may be used. You may already be aware of the type of lens you require or you are able to ask the optometrist for their opinion.

You will note on the order form, there are a number of different types of lens available, such as standard hard coated lenses, standard anti-reflection coated lenses, high index lenses ( reduces the thickness of high prescriptions), a transition lens (the lens darkens with sunlight), prescription tinted lenses with UV protection for sun use, and polarized prescription lenses. Just select the lens according to your personal needs.
